Conspiracy to kill jailed ex Jharkhand CM, Madhu Koda?

Madhu Koda
Ranchi, Nov 2: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Madhu Koda alleged that there was a conspiracy to kill him in the jail after he was beaten up in the jail by the prison guards.

Koda is currently hospitalised and undergoing treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) after he fractured his hand in the tiff.

"I was beaten up by jail policemen and when I fell on the ground, they hit me with batons on my chest," he said.

"The condition of common people can be understood when a former chief minister and Lok Sabha MP is beaten this way," he added.

Koda was beaten up after he sat on a protest against the quality of the food for the inmates.

"I was taken to hospital three hours after the incident. I was sitting on dharna due to the poor food being given to prisoners. When I was sitting on the dharna, the policemen started beating me," he said.

Meanwhile, a delegation led the Union Minister, Subodh Kant Sahay along with Madhu Koda's wife, Geeta met Syed Ahmed, Governor and asked him to probe into the matter.

"We are being harassed. In the past, I was not allowed to meet my husband in jail. There is a move to shield the officials involved in the incident," said Geeta Koda.

Koda has been lodged in the jail since Nov 2009 in a multi crore money laundering scam.
