Faridabad: 52-year-old lady gives birth to triplets

New Delhi, Nov 2: A 52-year-old lady gave birth to three babies at a time in Faridabad, she had to undergo in-vitro fertilization.

The first baby weighed around 1.474 kg, second baby was 1.277 kg and the third one was 1.645 kg.

Dr Anita Kant, head of gynaecology and obstetrics of Asian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) was quoted as saying, "The patient was in the 30th week of pregnancy. She delivered the babies 10 weeks before the due date. Due to her age she had developed high BP and liver problems and the babies were suffering inside the mother's womb. An emergency delivery was needed."

"Both mother and child are doing fine," said Dr NK Pandey, chairman & MD of AIMS.
