After UP, Jairam Ramesh writes to Maharashtra CM over NREGA

Mumbai, Oct 31: After writing a letter to the Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister, Mayawati, Rural Development Minister, Jairam Ramesh has now written to the Maharashtra CM, Prithiviraj Chavan expressing his concern over lack the implementation of NREGS in the state.

Ramesh in the letter expressed his concern over the lack of 'social audit' on NREGA in the state. However, the Maharashtra CM, Chavan refuted all the 11 concerns that were raised by the Rural Development Minister.

Jairam's letter comes days after he wrote a letter to UP CM, Mayawati over the misuse of the MNREGA funds in the state. The districts he mentioned in his letter were Gonda, Sonbhadra, Balrampur, Mahoba, Sant Kabir Nagar and Mirzapur.
