Rescuer turns martyr:A deadly end for a boy ahead of Diwali

Mumbai, Oct 27: 20-year-old Sagar Gardas might not have thought to meet with such a ghastly tragedy in his life. He became a martyr from a rescuer. Sagar died while trying to rescue a girl from the debris of a collapsed building in Mumbai.

Sagar, who was going to collect his monthly salary to buy Diwali gifts for his family members, had no clue that he would not return to home.

A three-storeyed building collapsed at Gautam Compound, Navi Basti, Bhiwandi on Tuesday, Oct 25. Sagar reportedly was passing by the site when he heard a screaming. He went to rescue a girl who was trapped under the collapsed building.

As he was pulling her out, the remaining part of the building collapsed on him causing his death. Sagar was the sole bread earner for his family as his father said, "We lost our only son, who was the sole bread earner of the family."
