Kudankulam N-plant protest: Kalam to act as mediator
Earlier, India's missile man had said that he would visit all nuclear reactors across the coastal belts to participate in a discussion with engineers and scientists regarding all aspects of the project. Moreover, kalam also plamning to organize a survey among the protesting Christian fishing community to detect areas of concern. After that a detail report would be prepared based on the finding facts.
The villagers at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu have organized several hunger protest in their demand to close down nuclear power plant as it will create displacement and loss of livelihood in that area.
The centre has already rejected to stop the work of the plant citing plant is designed to generate more nuclear power than anywhere else in the world and will solve Tamil Nadu's shortage of power problem. The first two reactors at the plant was orginally scheduled to start functioning alter this month but after protest launched by villagers it was stopped.
