All courts to be connected via internet in 3 years: Khurshid

"The work to connect all courts through internet will be completed in three years. After this, there will be no need to present prisoners in courts (as the hearing will be done through video-conferencing)," Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid said.
Inaugurating a library here yesterday, he said to ensure speedy disposal of cases, the number of Lok Adalats would be increased and their purview would be broadened.
The government was going to launch a new programme in the name of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to train young lawyers, Khurshid said adding such training would be imparted so that they could practice in High Courts and Supreme Courts.
The Law Minister said a bill to ensure that those with criminal cases could not contest polls would also be brought.
