BS Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Oct 24: With senior BJP leader LK Advani determined to come to Bangalore come what may on his anti-corruption drive in spite of the black taint caused by BS Yeddyurappa, the former CM's bail plea will be heard in the Karnataka High Court today (Oct 24). BSY's counsel Jayakumar Patil had sought bail on the grounds that he be allowed to celebrate Diwali with his family at home.

His counsel has sought a three-day bail for Yeddyurappa ahead of the festival of lights – Diwali. His earlier bail plea was rejected in court after the court opined that he might influence witnesses.

With BSY's Diwali plans all set for a show-down, it remains to be seen if Yeddyurappa will be granted bail after he was arrested on Oct 15 and sent to judicial custody. The special Lokayukta court had extended his custody till Nov 3.

His hospital-hopping exercise had attracted severe criticism from all quarters with some of them calling it a farcical attempt to escape jail. He was shifted to hospital after a few hours he got into jail on Oct 16 complaining of chest pain. He was again shifted to hospital on Wednesday after he was discharged from another hospital.

Yeddyurappa, hurt after the criticisms on his hospital stay chose to reject all the medical treatment after he was hurt with Advani's comments on the corruption in the BJP. Yeddyurappa also stated that this was the primary reason for continuing his treatment in the hospital in jail.
