BSY wants to see Diwali in jail, withdraws interim bail plea

Bangalore, Oct 24: Former Karnataka Chief Minister, BS Yeddyurappa on Monday, Oct 24 withdrew his interim bail plea and applied for regular bail.

The move by Yeddyurappa confirmed that he will spend this Diwali in Bangalore's Parappana Agrahara jail. Earlier, Yeddyurappa's counsel had sought interim bail for three days so that the former CM could celebrate Diwali with his family members.

Yeddyurappa was arrested on Oct 15 and was sent to judicial custody over his alleged role in two land denotification cases. His hospital-hopping exercise had attracted severe criticism from all quarters with some of them calling it a farcical attempt to escape jail. Complaining of chest pain, he was shifted to hospital after a few hours he was sent to jail on Oct 16. He was again shifted to hospital on Wednesday after he was discharged from another hospital.
