Scam
Bangalore, Oct 24: With the biggest festival of the country-Diwali round the corner, this wont be a 'happy diwali' for many scam tainted politicos, especially for the first timers who are cooling their heels behind the bars.

OneIndia brings to you the list of such politicians who will sit in dark dungeons away from the lap of luxury while the whole country celebrates the Festival of Lights.

A Raja:

The DMK leader and former telecom minister was arrested on Feb 2, 2011 for his alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam by the CBI. He along with 16 others have been charged for criminal breach of trust (Section 409) by the Special CBI court on Oct 22, 2011.

Suresh Kalmadi:

The Congress leader and ex-CWG chief was arrested on Apr 25, 2011 by the CBI for his alleged involvement in the CWG scam.

MK Kanimzohi:

The apple of her father's eye, DMK supremo Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi, DMK MP was arrested by the CBI on May 20, 2011 for her alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum scam.

Katta Subramanya Naidu:

The Ex-BJP minister was arrested on Aug 8 for his involvement in a land scam by the Karnataka Lokayukta.

Janardhan Reddy:

The 'Mining Czars' as the Reddy brothers are called, BJP leader Janardhana Reddy was arrested on Sept 5 for his alleged involvement in the illegal land mining scam by the CBI.

BS Yeddyurappa:

The latest to join the bandwagon is the former chief minister of Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa who was arrested on Oct 15 by the Karnataka Lokayukta amid high drama for his involvement in the illegal land denotification case. Famous for his 'magic tricks', no spell could save him this time from the clutches of law. He was hospitalised hours after he was jailed but moved back to jail after being hurt by BJP leader LK Advani's sharp criticism over corruption in the party.

With no relief to these jailed minister's whose repeated efforts to get bail have gone in vain, this sure looks like a 'Dark Diwali' for them.
