Rahul's claims deliberately ignored by UP govt: Cong
"During Rahul Gandhi's visit to Bhatta-Parsaul, some women informed him about the rape by PAC men but the state government did not take it seriously. Now, we expect them to lodge an FIR in the case after the HC decision," Congress spokesman Akhilesh Prata Singh said.
"Now Chief Minister Mayawati should take cognisance of the case and realise that to whom she had given protection have now been exposed. We hope there will be stern action against those found guilty," he said.
The Allahabad High Court in its order on October 20 had slammed the Mayawati government for its refusal to lodge an FIR in a complaint of rape in the aftermath of the land acquisition violence in twin villages of Bhatta and Parsaul.
