Muammar Gaddafi
Washington, Oct 21: Sixty-nine-year-old Muammar Gaddafi was alive when he was caught by the National Transitional Council (NTC) fighters in his hometown Sirte, shows a video in YouTube.

According to Washingtonpost.com, the video shows Gaddafi's moments after his arrest. It seems to capture the final moments of the man who ruled Libya with a dictatorial grip for 42 years, until he was ousted by his own people in an uprising that turned into a bloody civil war.

The YouTube video is shaky and shows fighters surrounding the bloodied Gaddafi. Meanwhile, an internet debate has arised on Gaddafi's death whether he died from his wounds or he was killed after capture. Gunshots can be heard in the YouTube video as the camera moves away from the dictator.

Gaddafi had been one of the world's most mercurial leaders, dominating Libya with a regime that often seemed to run by his whims bringing international condemnation and isolation on his country for four years. The fall of Sirte and Gaddafi's death brought an end to a dictatorial period in Libya and the beginning of a new chapter for Libyan citizens.
