Guj IAS officer's arrest:SC again issues notice to Modi govt

New Delhi, Oct 20: Supreme Court on Thursday, Oct 20 issued notice to Gujarat's Narendra Modi's government over the arrest of IAS Officer, Pradeep Sharma.

The notice has been issued on a bail plea of Sharma who was arrested over allegations of giving land to private companies at a concessional rate in the wake of the 2001 earthquake.

The then chairman of the committee, Sharma formed for the redevelopment and reconstruction in Bhuj and the land was given in 2004.

Sharma was arrested in Feb 2011. The apex court's notice erupted when senior counsel Colin Gonsalves made the plea for bail.
