More security for Anna; Maha govt to assess efforts

Anna Hazare
Mumbai, Oct 19: The Maharashtra government is likely to examine providing security to social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare. Sources said that, a team of the Maharashtra police may visit Anna's village Ralegan Siddhi for the security review.

Maharashtra DGP K Subramaniam told CNN-IBN that there was a constant review of the security of Anna Hazare that was underway. Further said that, security had already been provided in Ralegan siddhi.

This move has come after back to back attacks on two key Team Anna members Prashant Bhusan and Arvind Kejriwal. First the senior lawyer of supreme court Prashant Bhushan was attacked inside his Supreme Court chamber by three unknown men on Oct 12 over his negative comments on Kashmir. Second, on the next day, Anna supporters protesting outside the Patiala House court were also attacked by the members of the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena. Lastly, a key Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal was attacked with a slipper during a public meeting in Lucknow on Oct 21 evening.

Meanwhile, all attackes were deeply condemned by all the political parties and India's face agianst corruption members and social activists.
