Common pass for Bangalore Metro and BMTC bus

Bangalore, Oct 19: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) are collectively launching a common day pass called Metro Bus Transit Pass that can be used in both metro and BMTC buses from Oct 20 when commercial service on Reach 1 will be launched.

According to a BMTC source, the Metro Bus Transit one-day passes will be of two categories, Metro rail and non-AC BMTC buses which will cost Rs 70 and Metro rail and all BMTC services except Vayu Vajra costs Rs. 110. The passes will be printed in multi-colour with bar code.

The Metro Bus Transit Passes will be made available at all metro stations, on-board all metro feeder buses and at Kempe Gowda bus terminal, Shivajinagar bus terminal, K.R. Market bus-station, and Jayanagar and Domlur traffic and transit management centres.

Meanwhile, the BMTC has introduced feeder bus service specific to each Metro station and it will be operated through specially branded buses with Metro colour scheme for easy identification.
