School expels 13 students for involving in sex scandal

Mbabane, Oct 19: Thirteen students have been expelled from their school hostel for allegedly involving in sexual misconduct in Mbabane, Swaziland.

The expelled students are aged between 12-15.

According to a parent, her 14-year-old daughter was expelled from the school after she spent a night at the boy's hostel and was told to attend few days of her school from home.

"I was called to the school and was told that my child has been expelled from the hostels as she recently spent a night at the boys" hostel. I was told that she would now be a day-scholar and no further details of her offences were explained to me. The reason I have called you is that the school administration is refusing to refund me the money I paid at the beginning of the term for hostel facilities. All I want is for the administration to refund me so that I could be able to provide lunch for her and also pay for her transport," she said.

"There are other people from outside who I also gathered are involved in such corrupt practices," said the woman.

Sources also reveal that the students involved themselves in such illicit practices as they were not monitored at night.

Reports confirm that the security guard of the hostel himself was the one who facilitated the operations and since the girls and boys hostel was few meters away, they were free to visit each other.
