DIAL CEO I. Prabhakara Rao has been quoted as saying, "We wanted to create an effective channel of communication with our customers, in addition to our already existing means like the feedback forms, information kiosks and email. Facebook and Twitter offer us and our esteemed customers an instant mode of communication and the ability to connect swiftly. Very soon we will be live on other social media platforms as well. Besides providing required information, we intend to send useful updates on airport related facilities, special offers and promotions that we would be undertaking from time to time."

On the reasons behind the DIAL'S foray into the social media space, Rao commented, "India has close to 4 crore Facebook users and also a huge number of people on Twitter, with both these figures growing. Majority of these people are flyers or potential flyers, so it makes sense going live on social media."
