RIM doles out goodies worth $100 for upset Blackberry users

Toronto, Oct 17: With the Blackberry outage distressing users all over the world, the company behind the popular product Canada's Research In Motion Ltd is facing flak from all over. In a move to appease BB users, the company is offering free premium apps worth more than $100 to its customers for the inconvenience caused due to the service disruption last week.

Research in Motion has stated that the complete selection of apps will be available to download at BlackBerry App World. The offer can be made use of from Oct 19 for the next four weeks. Enterprise customers will also be doled out the goodies in the appeasement drive with a free technical support offer for a month.

In a statement given out by RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, he said, "We've worked hard to earn their (customers') trust over the past 12 years and we're committed to providing the high standard of reliability they expect."

Lazaridis also added that the company is taking essential steps to make sure that similar service disruption do not repeat in the future.
