Reddys judicial custody to be extended till Oct 31

Hyderabad, Oct 17: A special court has extended the judicial custody of mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law BV Srinivasa Reddy till Oct 31 in the Bellary illegal mining case.

On Sep 5, the federal agency had arrested them as they were involved in the illegal mining in Andhra Pradesh's Ananatpur district. On Sep 13, the court rejected their bail pleas and were to CBI custody for. Then the court sent them to judicial custody in Hyderabad on Sep 19.

CBI officials claimed that judge conducted the hearing through video linkage between the court and Chanchalguda central jail as Telangana lawyers were protesting for the separate state.
