'Mayawati to suppress Anna's movement'

Badaun (UP), Oct 16: Samajwadi Party's state chief Akhilesh Yadav said that Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati would suppress Gandhian crusader Anna Hazare's movement by using her power.

"Anna Hazare is welcome in Uttar Pradesh to start an agitation against corruption. However, I am sure Mayawati government will not allow him to do so as she is known for suppressing such agitations by lathi-charge," said Akhilesh.

He added that our party does not have any tacit understanding with the Congress. After the end of his Jan Kranti Yatra he would meet Manmohan Singh to discuss Amar Singh's illness.

He commented on BJP after BS Yeddyurappa's arrest that the party was with corruption or against corruption.
