Mayawati govt ignoring poor: BJP

Mayawati
Chandauli (UP), Oct 15: Alleging that the Mayawati government was ignoring the interest of common man, BJP leader Kalraj Mishra on Friday said crores of rupees were spent on erecting statues but nothing was done for the poor and downtrodden.

"The Chief Minister has spent crores on erecting statues but did nothing significant for the poor and drowntrodden people. It has come to my notice that voice of people for fertiliser, electricity and water was ignored by officers," Mishra said.

He was addressing a gathering here before taking out a Jan Swabhiman Yatra here. Alleging that the officers were busy in extorting money from public, Mishra said the recent incident in Chandauli where a truck driver was beaten to death was a glaring example.
