UP: Rahul Gandhi averts death, Maya's apathy proved again?

Bundelkhand/UP, Oct 14: It seems that Rahul Gandhi averted his death in an accident when a bridge collapsed just four hours after his visit to a place in Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress general secretary along with the party representative in Uttar Pradesh, Rita Bahuguna Joshi on Wednesday, Oct 12 had surveyed the region to examine how substandard materials were being used in several constructions in the state.

Citing the accident, many raised questions about the increased corruption in Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh. It has been reported that Rs 7,200 crore has been sanctioned by the central government to the state government for the development of the region where the collapsed bridge was under the construction. The bridge was meant to be built to connect two important parts, Hardauli village and Banda city.

However, Mayawati government allegedly used only 10 percent of the sanctioned fund so far. The Congress party might use the issue as one of the main weapons against Mayawati in the upcoming election in the state.

Meanwhile, Mayawati claimed that someone deliberately destroyed the bridge and her government would take action against Rita Bahuguna Joshi who allegedly endangered Mr Gandhi's life by taking him to a place which was under-construction.
