Major terror attack foiled in Ambala;police seize explosives
The explosives were found after a joint operation by the Delhi police. The NSG team will look into the nature of the explosives used. They will also probe if the terror attempt has any connection with the Delhi High Court blast that ripped the capital on Sept 7, 2011.
There are also reports that the police acted on a tip-off that averted a major tragedy from playing out. Initial investigations suggest that the car had come from Jammu and Kashmir but had a Haryana registration number. The area has been cordoned off with investigators looking for clues to ascertain the criminals who planned the attack.
The police found a box of sweets in the car with a Jammu address. The investigative agencies are also not ruling out a cross-border terror angle in the probe as well.
More details awaited.
