Corporates behind bar:SC bashes law minister Salman Khurshid
The apex court, while criticising Khurshid's statement, claimed, "If the news report is true, it is disturbing for us."
The court's statement on Khurshid's saying came when it was hearing the bail pleas of 2G spectrum scam case accused - Unitech Managing Director Sanjay Chandra and Swan Telecom's Director Vinod Goenka.
"It appears as if we are interested in keeping these businessmen behind bars. Is this news report/statement and what has been reported in newspapers totally correct? It was in the headline of a leading newspaper. If it is correct, it is disturbing for us," the court said during the trials.
Here it can be recalled that Khurshid was quoted by media as stating that putting businessmen behind bars will hamper investment.
