Telangana turmoil: Agitators attack private college

Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, Oct 10: Telangana activists attacked a private college in Kukatpally and demanded its closure, meanwhile parents also protested and demanded the management to run the classes.

Protestors argued with the parents and hurled stones at the NRI college. The agitators demanded the management to shut down the college in the general strike.

Police used batons to split the group of protestors. NRI college's parents association demanded Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) to leave the educational institutions in this strike. Students returned from schools as management had decided not to run the classes. However, they are confused whether the schools and colleges would be open after Dussehra holidays. In Kukatpally, some schools were opened with tight security.

Around 1,20,000 teachers supporting government employees were involved in the strike causing the shut down of all the government-run institutions in Hyderabad and nine other districts.
