Exam fraud: Puducherry education minister booked

Puducherry
Chennai, Oct 9: 34-year-old Puducherry education minister P M L Kalyanasundaram, who is a school dropout, has been booked under a fraud examination case.

The accused education minister allegedly used an impersonator to write the class 10 supplementary exam in Villupuram district. The examination was held in Sep 2011.

A criminal case has been registered against Kalyanasundaram and exam hall supervisor P Adavan and office assistant M Rajini Kanth. Adavan and Kanth have been accused of helping the minister to carry out the impersonation plan.

Tamil Nadu minister for school education C Ve Shanmugam stated, "The district educational officer filed the complaint against the minister after a thorough probe. The investigation confirmed that there was strong prima-facie evidence that the minister had used a proxy to write the exam."

Demand for CBI probe has already been raised by the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee who also approached Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa demanding thorough probe in the fraud case.
