Wife 'bashed'; Relief for Kannada actor Darshan, gets bail

Bangalore, Oct 7: After a long time Kannada actor Darshan received relief for the time being. The actor, who was accused of bashing his wife and allegedly threatened to kill his wife and his child, got conditional bail on Friday, Oct 7.

Darshan was charged with sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Darshan, who was arrested on Sep 9, allegedly assaulted his wife Vijayalakshmi. The accused actor was in judicial custody and was lodged in Parappana Agrahara in Bangalore.

Darshan was admitted in hospital as he was suffering from jaundice. His wife, after filing an assaulting case, had taken an u-turn while withdrawing all charges against him. However, the court did not grant her plea to withdraw the case.
