Guwahati: Killer husband roams with wife's head, son missing

Guwahati, Oct 7: Guwahati police on Thursday, Oct 6 arrested a man carrying his wife's head. The man allegedly beheaded his wife accusing her of having extra marital affair.

The "killer" husband , Ranjit Das reportedly had a fight with his wife and killed her in a fit of rage with a sharp machete at their residence in Japorigog.

The couple's younger son, 6-year-old Ashim Das, who is believed to be the only witness of the gruesome murder, is missing. Police arrested Ranjit Das while he was roaming with his wife's head.

The deceased was serving as a nurse in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in Darrang district.

The dead body has been sent for postmortem, while police started questioning the accused.
