Gujarat: Sanjeev Bhatt's bail plea to be heard today

Ahmedabad, Oct 7: The bail plea of suspended IPS officer, Sanjeev Bhatt will come up for hearing at an Ahmedabad court on Friday, Oct 7.

The Gujarat government had challenged the court's order that rejected Bhatt's remand earlier.

The court had earlier asked Bhatt to accept the police's remand for few hours, after which he was to be granted bail but Bhatt denied bail saying it was a war of principals.

Bhatt was arrested after a FIR filed against him by KD Pant, police constable, who alleged that Bhatt threatened to forced him to sign a false affidavit against the Chief Minister Narendra Modi which said that the CM had asked the police to slow down on the rioters.

Bhatt has been booked for fabricating evidence and wrongful restraint.
