Advani to miss Vidisha over Sushma's Karva Chauth
Bhopal, Oct 7: Senior BJP leader LK Advani's Jan Chetana Yatra will skip Vidisha after Sushma Swaraj declared that she wouldn't be join the yatra on Oct 15 due to her Karva Chauth.
Advani's rath will leave Mirzapur on Oct 13 and on the same day, he will enter Madhya Pradesh through Hanumana in Rewa district. Advani will address a public meeting in Satna accompanied with BJP member Ananth Kumar and state BJP bosses.
On Oct 16, he (Advani) will address a public rally in Bhopal and on the next day the procession will leave MP for Nagpur. Sushma will join Advani during the public meeting.
BJP president Prabhat Jha was quoted as saying, "The rath enters Madhya Pradesh on October 13 and the LoP is expected to join the journey on October 16 during the concluding session here, just before the cavalcade leaves for Maharashtra. We had to change the yatra route because the rath cannot travel through a constituency without its elected BJP MP."
He added, since Karwa Chauth is a revered annual festival for married women, Swaraj has the right to celebrate it with her family members.
