Varun Gandhi makes fun of President's 6 crore 'Batman' car

"Colossal extravagance of spending 6 crore on President's car laughable, if not tragic, at a time when aam aadmi expected to live on Rs 32 a day," BJP national secretary Varun Gandhi said on Twitter.
"Car can run on flat tyres, has self-sealing fuel tank. Fire extinguishing system is bomb proof. Is this for Pratibha Patil or Batman?" he added.
President Prathibha Patil has been given a Mercedes Benz car having unique features that provide security from small arm projectiles, hand grenades and other similar explosives. Sources reveal that the government spent around Rs 6 crore on the car.
Reports also suggest that the car has a specially built space meant for meetings in addition to the latest entertainment and communications systems. The car also boasts of a special air intake system that can circulate fresh air even if poisonous gases are present around.
