Steve Jobs death records highest number of tweets per second

London, Oct 6: The death of Apple's co-founder Steve Jobs has attracted the largest online reaction after twitter recorded 10,000 tweets per second.

According to SR7, a social media monitoring firm earlier Beyonce's performance at the MTV Music Awards when she revealed that she was pregnant had got a response record of record 8868 tweets per second.

Other such event included Japan beating USA in the women's soccer World Cup finals in Jul that brought forth 7,196 tweets per second, while terror head Osama bin Laden's death attracted 5,000 tweets per second, said the Sydney Morning Herald.

During the Japan earthquake and tsunami in Mar 5,530 tweets per second were recorded while, 3,966 per second were recorded during the British royal wedding.
