More raids at Mining Czar Reddy's abode 'Bellary'

Bellary, Oct 3: At least 6 locations across Bellary were raided by the CBI, said sources.

According to reports, BJP MLA from Kudligi, Nagendra's residence and office was the first to be raided.

The raids are a part of the on going investigation into the illegal mining scam. Reports reveal that CBI sleuthshave recovered important documents related to the case so far.

The offices owned by Janardhana Reddy and his wife Lakshmi Aruna-Associated Mining Company (AMC)were also raided, said spokesperson.

The spokesperson also revealed that the CBI was considering raiding houses of Karnataka forest department officials in Chitradurga and Davangere districts to gather evidence in the illgal mining scam by the Reddy's.

Meanwhile, the Court on Friday, Sept 30 dismissed bail plea of former Karnataka Minister Janardhana Reddy and OMC MD BV Srinivas Reddy in illegal mining case.

Janardhan Reddy along with his brother-in-law, Srinivas Reddy were arrested over their alleged roles in illegal mining in Bellary in Karnataka and in Andhra Pradesh.

It has been revealed that mining baron Janardana Reddy's assets seized by the CBI is worth Rs 294 crore. The assets include 50 kg of gold with 50 gold bangles, 15 diamond necklaces, gold plates and spoons, several diamond-studded gold necklaces, hundreds of gold and platinum chains, silver and gold puja articles and gold bracelets.

The vehicles seized from the Bellary Reddys included a Rolls-Royce Phantom, BMW, Land Cruiser, Range Rover, 50 Scorpios and a luxury bus worth Rs 5 crore.
