Ghulam Nabi appeals Telangana activists to end the strike

"The strike should be called off immediately as it would provide the common people of the state some much needed respite," said Azad.
"If they call off their strike, the people of Telangana will be greatly relieved," he added.
Azad also said that the detail discussion on the issue had been done with state level elected representatives and it will take some more time to take the final decision as the matter is very sensitive. The Central government is trying their best to solve the matter at the earliest, he added.
The Telangana general strike for separate statehood has touched 18 days on Monday, Sept 3. Telangana is sought to be carved out of the economically less developed parts of Andhra Pradesh.
