New Delhi, Oct 2: A good news for air travellers in India. They may soon receive their boarding passes in their mobile phones without wasting time in the long cues in airports. An air transport communications and IT solutions provider, SITA reportedly has been discussing the issue with airlines and other agencies since the new proposal has been popped up.

SITA reportedly is discussing the issue (boarding passes in mobile phones) with the authorities concerned for implementation of their PassengerWeb check-in application. The application allows people to check-in via electronic boarding passes sent directly to their phones.

Peter Cunnighan, SITA spokesperson said, "We are in talks with airlines and airports for implementation of our host of mobile technologies, including PassengerWeb check-in application."

Cunnighan also added, "The combination of mobile devices and advanced communications technology will increase the productivity of both airline and airport staff, enabling them to do their work more quickly and efficiently."
