PM, Sonia visit Rajghat on Gandhi Jayanti when UPA tumbles

New Delhi, Oct 2: Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh and Congress President, Sonia Gandhi visited Rajghat to pay their homage to Mahatma Gandhi as it was his 142nd birth anniversary (Gandhi Jayanti) on Sunday, Oct 2.

Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit along with Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and BJP senior leader, LK Advani paid their honour to Bapu.

Sonia and Manmohan visited Rajghat when UPA government has been tangled with various corruption allegations, especially 2G spectrum scam allegations.

UPA's two prominent leaders - home minister, P Chidambaram and finance minister, Pranab Mukherjee have been hit by a fresh allegation over the second generation telecom scam. Opposition parties started demanding resignation from the home minister.

However, the central government has been trying to heal its injuries since the scam hits it (UPA government). Now, many started asking - will the PM and UPA chief be able to handle the crisis after paying tribute to Bapu who led the nation to uproot British Raj?
