Thai PM to host weekly TV show

According to the Thai premier, the show called "Yingluck meets the people" will be aired for half an hour from 8.30 am local time every Saturday on the state-run channel of the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT).
In the program, Yingluck will report the work of her government but due to the limited airtime, phone calls will initially not be allowed. Relevant ministers will also be invited to explain government polices to the public.
In response to criticisms over the introduction of TV programs on the NBT by close-aides of the ruling Pheu Thai Party and red shirt protest leaders, Yingluck said she is not involved in any of the decision-making, noting that it is the responsibility of relevant officials.
Commenting on the matter, Yingluck said the content of a TV program should correspond with the objectives of each TV channel, noting as long as they are relevant, there should not be a problem.
She added that TV shows that criticized her government could be produced in appropriate manners.
