School clerk run over by train, grieving sister kills self

Hajipur, Sep 30: In a twin tragedy, a clerk of a government school was killed and unable to come to terms with the death before her eyes, his accompanying sister also commited suicide at Hajipur station in Bihar's Vaishali district today (Sept 30), railway sources said.

Vijayanand Singh was hit by the train when he was crossing the tracks to reach a platform, the sources said.

Unable to bear the sight of a lifeless Singh, his sister also jumped before a goods train and died on the spot. Both bodies were later taken to a railway hospital for post-mortem.
