Ghulam Nabi Azad submits Telangana Report, Sonia will decide
Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee met Telangana Congress MPs, who refused to return back unless the UPA government declares for the formation of seperate state.
The Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) has called a bandh in Hyderabad, a part of their protest to put pressure on the UPA government to accept their demand for a seperate state.
Protesters are surrounding the houses of Congress leaders and not allowing them to move freely in the Telangana region. Protestors are putting pressure on the elected representatives and ministers in the Congress government to resign.
A protestor has been quoted as saying, "If our Congress leaders were good, then by now a Bill on Telangana would have been presented in Parliament and Telangana state would have been formed," said another protester.
K Chandrasekhar Rao, TRS president has been quoted as saying, "It is a demand by the people of Telangana, not KCR alone. It is a popular demand that all Telangana public representatives must resign, so that the Centre is moved and the issue is solved."
Meanwhile, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao arrived to New Delhi on Friday, Sep 30 to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pratibha Patil over the weekend.
