Wipro wins Microsoft award

Bangalore, Sep 29: IT company Wipro Technologies today (Sept 29) announced it has won the 2011 Microsoft Software Development Partner of the Year Award.

The company was honored among a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of customer solutions, based on Microsoft technology, Wipro said in a statement.

"This recognition is testimony to our ability to deliver comprehensive solutions across Microsoft technology platforms," said Wipro Technologies Senior Vice President and Global Head (Business Application Services) Srini Pallia.

The awards were presented by Microsoft in multiple categories, with winners chosen from a set of more than 3,000 entrants worldwide, the company said.

Wipro Technologies was recognised for providing outstanding solutions and services in Microsoft Software Development for the year, it said.

The Software Development Partner of the Year Award honors exceptional innovation from a partner who developed a custom application infrastructure solution on and with Microsoft technologies.

The award recognises Wipro Technologies for providing a highly customized solution to support unique business practices, including enhancement of existing systems, integration with new technologies and developing an extension to existing Microsoft solutions.
