Goa govt neck deep in mining scam: Kalraj Mishra
BJP national vice president Kalraj Mishra told PTI here that the multi-crore mining scam is a fallout of the "political patronage" by the Congress government.
"There is a huge loss of the revenue to the state exchequer. In such circumstances, the government has no right to continue ruling," Mishra said.
"This scam is just another scam of UPA government," he said, accusing that every member of the state Cabinet, including chief minister Digambar Kamat, has been involved in the illegalities.
"Alike the Centre which is involved in several scams, this is one such scam in the state," Mishra alleged.
The Opposition BJP has already demanded resignation of Kamat in the wake of the multi-crore scam, which is being investigated by Justice M B Shah Commission.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the state legislative Assembly is in its final stage to prepare the report on instances of illegal mining.
