Afzal's mercy: Gherao outside JK assembly, 100 detained

Srinagar, Sep 29: More than 100 protesters have been detained from outside the Jammu Kashmir assembly on Thursday, Sep 29. Protesters staged a gherao protest outside the assembly.

Independent MLA Rashid also has been arrested with his other supporters following the gherao outside the Jammu Kashmir assembly. Engineer Rashid had moved motion seeking clemency for Afzal Guru.

Ruckus over mercy plea resolution of Afzal Guru had paralysed the assembly on Wednesday and again on Thursday, people witnessed the same condition.

The PDP is expected to vote in favor of clemency, Omar Abdullah's National Conference is in a bind and each MLA has been asked to vote as per his conscience.

BJP is expected to vote against the resolution while the Congress still maintaining secrecy about their decision on the mercy resolution.
