Orissa: Bigger mining scam than Bellary; even Reddys ashamed

Orissa's vigilance department for illegal mining charge-sheeted five mining companies and Sirajuddin Mines, Rungta Mines and the Indrani Patnaik Mines are three among them.
Anup Patnaik, Director, Vigilance, Orissa said, "We have issued show cause notice to these mines owners and have seized their equipments and have told them to stop work immediately till the investigation is complete. It's now for the mines dept to ensure that they do not operate. If they still operate, it's illegal."
Here it can be recalled that Gali Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law have been arrested over the illegal mining scam in Bellary which cost the state exchequer a loss of Rs 1800 crore. Currently both of them have been lodged in a jail in Andhra Pradesh.
