Amar Singh
New Delhi, Sept 27: With the cash-for-votes accused and former Samajwadi party leader Amar Singh likely to be discharged from hospital soon, the court will decide if Singh should be granted permission to travel abroad for treatment.

Amar Singh has been suffering from various ailments and is under the care of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) doctors. He was earlier granted an interim bail on health grounds after his health deteriorated after being jailed. He was arrested after being named an accused in the cash for voted scam that played out in the Parliament.

The interim bail had explicitly stated that he will not be allowed to travel abroad. The interim bail period ends on Tuesday. He was granted bail by the Tees Hazari court on medical grounds. He had to furnish a personal surety bond of Rs 2 lakh and surrender his passport for the same.

Having undergone a kidney transplant in Singapore earlier, Amar Singh's health is in a fragile condition and is prone to infections and other complications. He also has to visit the doctors there for his appointment. Following the arrest, Singh had to deal with UTI, increase serum creatinine, vitamin B12 deficiency and increased TSH.

The medical report given out by the AIIMS had revealed that Amar Singh suffered severe abdominal pain and was prone to infections due to the renal transplant. Meanwhile, another person accused in the cash for votes scam, Sudheendra Kulkarni is also in court for his bail.
