Rosaiah, Karunanidhi greet Manmohan Singh on his birthday

Chennai, Sep 26: Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah and DMK chief M Karunanidhi greeted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who turned 79 today (Sept 26).

In his message to Singh, who is in the US on an official trip, Rosaiah extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes.

"It is your farsighted vision, dynamic approach and unstinted efforts that will steer our nation to greater heights and will place India on a high pedestal amongst the global nations," he said in his message here. He wished a long, happy and healthy life for the Prime Minister. Karunanidhi, whose party is a key ally of Congress-led UPA, hailed Singh for his "profound scholarship and impeccable career."

"Despite innumerable problems, you have been able to steer clear, because of your vast and varied experience, profound scholarship and impeccable career," Karunanidhi said even as the two-year old UPA-II headed by Singh is facing flak regarding scams, price rise and other issues.

Karunanidhi, in a telegram to the Prime Minister, wished him a very long life of good health and happiness.
