Pranab meets Sonia after Chidambaram offers resignation

New Delhi, Sep 26: Ending all speculations over the meeting, Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee finally reached 10 Janapath raod to meet Congress' President, Sonia Gandhi on Monday, Sep 26.

Pranab's meeting with Sonia carries special significance as the meeting has been held after the Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram offered his resignation.

Pranab clarified all clouds over his letter on 2G spectrum note which allegedly said that Chidambaram could have prevented 2G spectrum scam but he (Chidambaram) allegedly did not do "enough" in 2008 before marking the price of 2G spectrum with the then telecom minister, A Raja.

Pranab, while talking about the home minister, said, "Chidambaram is a valued colleague." However, reports claimed that the finance minister and the home minister had a tough time after a RTI report unveiled Pranab's letter to the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.
