Centre approves Rs.156.68 crore for Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, Sep 26: The Centre has approved an amount of Rs 156.88 crore to Arunachal Pradesh against proposals for flood management schemes submitted by the state government, Water Resources Department Minister Pema Khandu informed the assembly today (Sept 26).

The minister was responding to a question raised in the House during question hour by TMC member Laeta Umbrey regarding government's initiatives on flood control projects after China objected to the loan approved by the Asian Development Bank to Arunachal in recent years.

"The state government initiated proposal for flood management schemes on ten basins of the state with estimated cost of Rs 156.68 crore and accordingly the Centre approved it on August this year," Khandu informed the House.
