Actor Anil Kapoor's father dead

Kapoor was also the president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India from 1995 to 2001. He was awarded with L.V. Prasad Phalke Award in 2009.
Kapoor was well known as a filmmaker to reckon with in the '70s and '80s. He produced films like Ponga Pandit (1975), Hum Paanch (1980) and Woh Saat Din (1983). His last film as a producer was No Entry in 2005, along with his son Anil Kapoor.
He started his film career as a secretary to film actress Gita Bali and then went on to become an assistant director with the film Mughal e Azam.
