Actress Sona slaps molestation charges against SPB Charan
The complaint was filed before the Greater Chennai police commissioner J K Tripathy. She also gave a VCD to the authorities that apparently contained evidence that will give substance to her claim. The actress, however refused to divulge details about the CD. She told reporters, "I just came to submit the VCD and also request the police commissioner to pursue the case and order speedy action."
Sona had filed a complaint with the local police at Soundarapandianar Angadi police where a case was booked under various sections against Charan. The charges include molestation charges apart from other complaints. Sona had alleged that she had sought Charan's apology after the incident but not only did he refuse but even threatened her with dire consequences.
The incident happened at a party hosted to celebrate the success of Tamil star Ajith's film Mankaatha. The event was attended by Charan, actor Vaibhav, actor Premji Amaran and director Venkat Prabhu. Sona alleged that Charan misbehaved with her under the influence of alcohol. She said, "I have exposed the issue to the media and the police only to ensure that he (Charan) does not repeat such acts again, not only with me but also with any other woman. I am in the industry for my livelihood. But I do have my dignity. Charan should apologise for his act."
