Rich tribute flow for cricket legend Pataudi

New Delhi, Sept 23: Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, one of India's greatest captains, who passed away on Thursday, Sept 22 left the nation in a terrible shock. All the big names from cricket, bollywood and politics have condoled the death of former India cricket captain.

* Prime Minister Manmohan Singh condoled the death of iconic figure who had brought a new confidence to the Indian cricket team. "I am distressed to have learnt of the demise of legendary cricketer Mansur Ali Khan. He was a dashing and daring captain, who brought a new confidence to the Indian cricket scene," he said in a condolence message.

"Even after his playing days were over, he remained an iconic figure, an embodiment of poise and polish and a great advocate of sportsmanship," Singh said.

* The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday lamented the sudden demise of former captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, saying he brought about a revolution in Indian team's fielding and guided the side to unprecedented heights.

"I am shocked to hear the news of Tiger Pataudi's demise. He was an exemplary individual, who guided Indian cricket to unprecedented heights, as batsman, fielder and captain," new BCCI President N Srinivasan said.
