HD Deve Gowda's eldest son charged in illegal assets case

Bangalore, Sept 22: A retired state government official on Thursday has filed a petition before the Lokayukta Special Court against HD Balakrishne Gowda, the eldest son of former prime minister and JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda.

S N Balakrishna, retired assistant manager of Bhadravathi Iron Ore Company filed the complaint against Balakrishne Gowda accusing him of corruption and amassing illegal wealth worth Rs.500 crore.

Balakrishna appealed to the court that Gowda's illegal properties should be seized. Judge NK Sudhindra Rao will declare his judgement in the case on Sept 24.

Gowda has been accused of owning assets worth of Rs. 10 crore with an annual income of Rs. 10 lakh before his retirement from Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS).
